Q: What GSM prevents dog claws from poking through the wipe?

For pre-moistened paw wipes, we recommend 55–65 gsm pearl-weave spunlace rather than the 40–45 gsm grades used in budget wipes. For post-bath drying towels on medium to large dogs, 75–100 gsm cross-lapped spunlace gives the highest wet tensile strength.

Q: Do you produce both dry pet towels and wet pet wipes in-house?

ZEFU converts dry disposable pet towels, grooming rolls and cotton pads in-house at our 7,060 m² Foshan facility. Dry pet grooming towels and wipes are converted 100% in-house, while pre-moistened pet wipes are produced on our dedicated ISO 22716 hygiene filling lines.

Q: Can we customize the wipe size for large dog breeds?

Yes. Beyond standard 15×20 cm and 20×20 cm wipes, we convert extra-large 20×30 cm sheets and bath-sized 60×120 cm or 70×140 cm drying towels.

Why UK & EU pet brands are switching to plastic-free spunlace

The UK ban on consumer wet wipes containing plastic (entering into force in spring 2027 in England, with parallel legislation across Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) applies to consumer pet wipes sold in retail stores just as it applies to baby and cosmetic wipes.

What counts as plastic: Standard polyester (PET) and polypropylene (PP) blends—and according to UK DEFRA guidance, certain chemically cross-linked or plastic-binder fabrics—cannot be sold to UK consumers once the ban takes effect.

Professional groomers, veterinary clinics, pet hotels and self-wash dog stations use disposable spunlace bath towels to cut laundry electricity, detergent wear and cross-contamination between animals.

A 70–90 gsm pearl-weave 100% viscose towel absorbs multiple times its own weight in water, wrings out without tearing, and can be reused several times on the same pet before disposal.

2. Daily paw, coat & ear wipes

Thick 55–65 gsm pearl-embossed sheets lift mud, pollen and dander from paws and underbellies. Available in fragrance-free mild sensitive-skin formulas (subject to claim substantiation in your market) or deodorizing botanical blends free from alcohol, parabens and harsh sulfates.

3. Pet eye & ear finger pads

Die-cut round or finger-pocket cotton/viscose pads (6–8 cm diameter) modelled on our cosmetic cotton pad converting lines, packed in 50–100 count jars for tear-stain and ear-wax cleaning.
